Amazon

Covering more than a half of the Brazilian territory, the Amazon is land of superlatives. An enormous tropical rain forest, the largest river, interrupted by a gigantic network of smaller rivers and the largest biodiversity on Earth. More than 1 million square kilometers of an exuberant jungle, which still remains as untouched as when Brazil was discovered.

Its great variety of ecosystems includes dry land forest, seasonally flooded forest, meadowlands, swamplands and savannahs. Large trees up to 20 meters high and incalculable patrimony in mineral deposits. It’s also a home for Cities, Indian Villages and isolated communities. A trip up the Amazon River or any of its main tributaries is an exciting adventure and possibly the best way to discover up close this unique scenery, the extraordinary variety of fauna and flora, and the way of life of the Amazon people.

During your expedition you can explore National Park of Jau, the largest forest reserve on the continent, hike through the Tapajos National Forest guided by biologist, go on a fishing trip or alligator spotting up to the Amazon river, Cruise along the dark waters of Negro river, visit isolated communities and Indian Villages, explore secluded river branches on canoes, see the transparent waters and with sandy beaches of Tapajos river, and stop for a picnic. Have fun, admire and discover the “untouchable” on an exciting adventure.

You can visit the Amazon throughout the whole year. From September to February during the dry season or from March to August, during the wet season – when native villages in the flooded regions are accessible only by small canoes. The ecological tourism is the great attraction of the tours through the Amazons.

We offer accommodations in the forest lodges, built at the margin of rivers; the tree top forest resorts, or floating on the water in a luxury boat hotel. But that’s not all. In the State of Amazonas you can also visit its modern capital Manaus, with its array of hotels. It has an international airport and convention center infrastructure for any business event.

Manaus keeps images of golden times of its peak during the rubber boom, including buildings and monuments recently restored. The state has also and intense cultural life, the Folk Festival of Boi-Bumba of Parintins and the Amazonas Opera Festival are big attraction, which show the artistic expression and musicality of its cheerful and hospitable people.
